Tom Brady’s Subway Commercial

In recent years, celebrities have made appearances in advertisements by acting out a scene or giving a short monologue about a specific product. This often made the celebrity the focus of the commercial rather than the product. While it is not completely a thing of the past, some brands like Subway are finding ways to showcase celebrity support while also spending the majority of their time showcasing their product.

Tom Brady has been doing commercials for many years and with many different brands. In this specific Subway commercial, they claim that they have so many new things to offer that they couldn’t even fit all of them in their last advertisement. They showcase their new deli roasted turkey and hickory roast bacon along with a new type of oven-roasted bread. The advertisement ends with someone saying “we have so much new, we don’t even have enough time for this guy” as it cuts to Tom Brady saying “But I’m Tom Brady” before instantly cutting him off and showcasing another new product which is their fresh avocado spread. Tom Brady is a very prominent figure that has thousands of people looking to hear what he has to say every Sunday night after a game. Subway pokes fun at this and barely gives him the time of day during this commercial. This is a great way to not only showcase their new products, but the comedic element makes viewers remember that a guy like Tom Brady supports the brand. They emphasize that they have so many things they want to display to the public, that paying Tom Brady to be in their commercial was almost a waste of their money and time.
