As a kid, I remember watching sports or TV with my dad and always hearing the iconic words “stay thirst my friends.” One of the most iconic beer campaigns of the past two decades belongs to Dos Equis by Heineken. Before this campaign, Dos Equis and Heineken at that, were not very well known throughout the United States. The launch of these commercials in 2007 helped put them in the conversation for commonly consumed and known drinks.

Unlike other commercials, Dos Equis decided to go a different route in terms of who they would be featuring in their ad campaign. The commercials consisted of an older man performing acts that are typically done by younger folk. This man was Jonathon Goldsmith who was known for other commercial gigs at the time. He acts as the man who other men dream of being like. This helped appeal to the brands older target market.

The campaign ended in 2018 but forever engraved Heineken as a common household beer.
